I think a "re-centering" talk is a great idea for any couple. It’s so easy to just drift into your own routines and forget to check in on the "we" part of the relationship. My partner and I try to do this every few months. It’s not about being "anti-tech," but just about making sure that our connection is the foundation and the digital stuff is just an optional extra. Once we got that hierarchy right, everything else fell into place. We still have our own interests and our own digital habits, but they don't feel like they're competing with our relationship anymore.

I just wandered into this thread while looking for some advice on home office organization. This is a very thoughtful look at the challenges of modern relationships. It seems like every couple has to invent their own rules for the digital age, and it’s cool to see how different people find what works for them. I don’t have much to add personally, but I appreciate the mature and respectful tone of the discussion. It’s a nice change of pace from the typical internet noise. I’m going to go find some info on shelf brackets now, but I hope the conversation stays this positive. Good luck to everyone with their own relationship goals!
