Improvements and bug fixes to the project xmr-btc-swap. I'm asking for funding for developing new features and bug fixes for the tool. The funding would go for 2.2 month of continuous development for a total of 55 XMR. The work would be divided in 15 hours of development a week at an hourly rate of 58€ at current price of 138€/XMR. Payment should be delivered on the accomplishment of the different milestones.
I'm Leo Escuer (@lescuer97 on github) a privacy enthusiast and all around good guy ;). I heard of the protocol when it was on the early stages of development and I found it fascinating and actually traded on it. When the COMIT team sent out a notice looking for maintainers I took the call so me along with 2 guys (BinaryBaron and delta1). I started making commit and doing bug fixes getting to know the project pretty decently. I have a great interest in Monero and Rust so I would love to keep working in this project and see it mature.
Will provide the necessary updates if funded in the CSS comments.
Seems good
I don't want this proposal to linger in the repo and be bothersome in the meeting. I will work on the tasks that have been told in the matrix chat and if the community wants to fund the work after that I would be greatful, but I do agree on what you guys talked about proving the work.
do you guys think this one should be close and open one in the future?
I agree, sounds good
I believe I did something really wrong on the first calculations. I can't pin point it.
if you convert the per hour XMR to € per hour it gives 24.4€/h
which doesn't make sense. I calculated the 3 weeks on a standard 4 weeks per month so it would be 12 not 13 but either way it doesn't account for the difference.
for the new one I truly don't know WTF I miss calculated I just re did this let me show it to you before I commit:
I'm truly sorry for the mess in the number. I will try to do this better in the future
Thank you for the very sharp eye
Happy new year everybody!
@plowsofff made the changes and also did some price adjustments with current price

fix on tasks, prices and amounts
I will take out the docker of course. doesn't make any sense to have it now.
my brother in Christ I can only budge to 58€/hr. I would love to go down more but I'm not able to.
interesting... baron never mentioned he had a working asb docker
HI just took a read a at the chat in the matrix chatroom: I'll clarify that I'm not a cryptographer, wanted to make that clear, I believe cryptography needs to be left to experts.
here is a link where I have commited to the project.
there has also been some Code reviews but the lookup thing in github is not great
obviously I have a biased opinion on this, but still I think that also competition in protocols is a good thing.
I believe that the community should get fixes for the already existing protocol and sadly don't have the privilege of doing that for free anymore.
Regarding the docker for ASB: if somebody can grab that project and make it work I will absolutely support giving them the funding instead of me.
I'm traveling on the day of the community meeting but I will try to be there

fix format and amount
Done!
made a small change on the write up that sets me the payment to the milestone completion.
the milestones coincide with the #What in the code so I think that makes a clear objective.
I added a 3 months limit on the support development milestone in the write up.
NOTE: I don't see the PR changing on the README but I do see the commits happening, does something need to be re run?

clarification of milestones
TLDR to the modification of the pr:

remove translation and rpc-api-feature
Will be there!
We don't fund translations. I have agreed to used the earnings to contract out to a profesional service.
The docker container can easily implemented by the community, we have done the same for monero and monero-lws.
we have requested this before. have not put a bounty on it. we can but either way it will need to be funded.
Support development is unclear. COMIT maintenance is already funded by BinaryBaron.
I don't believe the 5% time that is dedicated to the repo is enough. that is obviously just my opinion.
https://github.com/comit-network/xmr-btc-swap/issues/1184 has already been resolved 17 days ago.
I had not notice this, I would have taken it out. will do correction on the proposal then.
delta1 just cleared for me that it still to remain incompatible on 0.12.x
The new API interface is already being worked on https://github.com/comit-network/xmr-btc-swap/issues/1185
as I said before I'm talking with baron because if this new guy that came up wants to co-develop with me. I will totally support giving him funding.
The hourly rate asked for is higher than most other devs.
I live in a expensive country, I could go a little lower but not that much.
Thank you for the comments! I don't want to sound passive aggressive or anything like that. I appreciate the worries and feedback on things I missed ;)
I don't believe this is correct. yes the proposal mentions reviewing and merging issue but I don't think is fair to say that a whole new API is in the scope of that.
