  • This looks fine, the price asked is really fair, and the milestones looks good to me.
Please move this to funding required asap!

Great that it sounds like part 1 is almost done and part 2 would take about 18 hours, which means we could have this funded and finished in time for the October release!

Having an online tool is much needed as it significantly lowers the barrier of localizers such that they don't need to know git, download git and offline localizer tools, etc. and need only create an account.

Also request some expediency in getting this approved so it can be used for October release.

@sanecito Just a clarification: Part 2 will take 8 hours not 18 and Weblate is meant to be live and working in time for next hard fork, beside the result of this CCS. :)

    Hey everyone,

I personally like the idea. If this works in a continuous phase is interesting and really helpful for the community this sure will help outreach contributors to the community, congratulations @erciccione >:).

I have one question, will git never be used again?

I have one question, will git never be used again?

Git is always used. Contributions on weblate are committed in a local git repository and then pushed to the official repo (through a PR).

If you are asking if we will be using git less in the future: yes, that's the goal. Git is a stopper for non technical people and it's better to work without it (this the reason why we adopted a localization platform in the first place). In the future, most of the translation work will happen on weblate. This could include the documents of the outreach workgroup.

Okay, I understand the point. I will just suggest to not eliminate completely git. I found myself really thankful about learning git.

I think contributors should also be promoted the use of git, this gives quality contributors to the Monero community (I have no meaning saying that if you don't use git you are not a quality contributor, only that knowing how git works helps contributors contribute in other projects). This amplifies your opportunities.

Anyway, I like weblate idea but only not to completely close git contributions. E.g. if someone wants to use git, please don't push that person to use weblate.
