New users who login with GitHub cannot fork any repository, therefore it's impossible for them to contribute. Until now we solved asking @moneromooo-monero to manually unlock the profile, but we should really fix this issue for good.https://repo.getmonero.org/monero-project/monero-site/-/issues/997The "Downloads" page could be moor noob friendly. I liked a lot [this idea proposed on reddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/cnn57p/feedback_request_concept_for_a_new_landing_page/) some time ago and i think we should move towards something similar.
IMO the important things to do are:
- Add screenshot of the GUI wallet
- Add brief explanation of the double use of the GUI wallet (using local node or remote node). Many people still seem unaware of the fact that they don't need to download the blockchain to use Monero.
- Give less visibility to the hashes and confine them in a dropdown menu or somewhere else less visible.
- A more inviting color scheme (without messing with the general style of the website)
- We have dedicated sections for 32 and 64 bit software. A dropdown menu under "Linux", "windows", etc, could be used instead. No need for dedicated sections (especially since most of the people will need 64 bit binaries)
These points are just to give an idea, we could and should add more.
Would be great to have the new page done before next release, so i really hope somebody will show and give some help. I'm available to give support to whomever feel like working on this.erciccioneerciccionehttps://repo.getmonero.org/monero-project/monero-site/-/issues/978We should make clear that forum.getmonero.org is not active anymore2019-10-05T08:48:44ZerciccioneWe should make clear that forum.getmonero.org is not active anymoreThe forum is still up and this could create confusion (see #977) since it's not used anymore. This was already discussed in past but i cannot find the relate conversations. The code of the forum is not hosted on this repo, we need an input from @fluffypony on this.https://repo.getmonero.org/monero-project/monero-site/-/issues/1078Update `Securely purchasing and storing Monero` user guide2020-04-12T09:41:06ZerciccioneUpdate `Securely purchasing and storing Monero` user guidehttps://web.getmonero.org/resources/user-guides/securely_purchase.html
