  Apologies - again, I'm still learning git, and squashing commits cleanly and successfully has been the biggest challenge.

  Just to make sure before I make things messier instead of fixing them:

  git checkout master
  git pull upstream master
  git checkout update_rpc_docs-add_set_daemon
  git rebase master
  git push

  Does that look like the right way to accomplish what you're asking?
