Also easily have my (small) pocket. In my opinion this has been one of the biggest roadblocks to adoption over the years. Debian and Debian related privacy distros like Whonix, Tails, and Qubes have privacy minded users and are the ones most likely to adopt and further advocate adoption of Monero and contribute code/finances to the project. Super stoked at the possibility of closing this 2.5 year old issue.
I've tried to move this forward as a weekend project a few times, but wasn't able to make good progress due mostly to cluelessness. I am more than happy to throw some XMR at this and thankful to have someone involved who actually know what they're doing :)
FWIW, I would think most Tails users are going to just want a GUI client that connects to a full node over Tor. Syncing the whole blockchain to your USB Tails install seems like a hobbyist project more than a Typical User project.
kpcyrd (he's a Debian maintainer, and apparently ships some of the Monero AUR packages) made some comments I think are worth reading here:
Wonderful news. ;-) I am a tor-relay operator and debian user. Interested in monero for a few days and am currently learning more about it. Just put on a monero node. Blockchain is still synchronizing.
One question: Where is the donation address? I don't find them yet: https://ccs.getmonero.org/funding-required/
@boldsuck this has not yet been merged and is not yet ready available for funding. It's just in the Idea stage at this point. If it garners enough support (and it looks promising so far for this proposal) it will get merged.

Yeah, I got the CCS & the CSS Stages ;-) I wonder because donations have already been received in the proposal? Somebody has already collected something somewhere.
