Hello community, I'm CryptoMorpheus_.
Hello community, I'm CryptoMorpheus_.
Some of your probably know me, or at least know my work already. I am the developer behind Monero.com (for Cake Wallet) and the creator of Moneroj.net, a website with Monero metrics. I started that project in 2021, more than a year ago, after I developed a method of calculating Monero's value based on its daily transaction count (which I named the Metcalfe's Law Method, considering it was based on that theory). I always felt Monero was missing a dedicated website with some interesting metrics, so I began development of Moneroj.net at that time. When I first started this project, I had only around six charts on the website, and I never imagined I could assembly so many metrics together. Right now the website has more than 30 charts.

I started the project with my own funds, and promply clarified the project did not (and still does not) intend to make profits, since it was just a "tool" I was building to help the community and to spread the word on this awesome cryptocurrency. I always believed the information should be provided freely, since it is already hard enough to convince people to improve habits.

Some members of the community donated some amounts to me when I first delivered the website, but now the project has completed 1 year,
and it has grown so much larger than anticipated that it needs some serious improvements as soon as possible. The server is not being able to withstand the requests, and there's so much data on it that it takes an eternity to load some of the charts. Part of this is because when I first developed the website I made it as simple as possible, because since it was not intended for profit, I couldn't invest many work hours on it.

But now things have changed, and I belive many like and use my work daily. The website is a tool to provide useful information for members of the community and also to wake people up to this wonderful form of money. The more I work on this project, the more bullish I become on privacy. Having said that, I intend to do a complete reestruture of the website:
But now things have changed, and I believe many like and use my work on a daily basis. The website is a tool to provide useful information to community members and also to awaken people to this wonderful form of money. The more I work on this project, the more optimistic I become about privacy. That said, I intend to do a complete restructuring of the website:
## What needs to be done
Month 1) New server, fix bugs and improve the interface
- The website needs a new, improved and faster server;
- The website needs an improved interface and visual identity;
- I intend to get privacy-preserving statistics using Plausible (which has a monthly cost), the same way Seth does on https://sethforprivacy.com, so we can check the increase in number of users (to have some feedback);
- There are a lot of bugs that need fixing, including some on the database itself, which I never had the opportunity to fix;
- Some charts need to be better presented, with more extensive explanation of its contents, so new Monero users can understand;
- I need to develop a new method of presenting the information in a way that the server loads in a faster time, perhaps changin the database structure on some of the charts;
Month 2 ) Improve loading speed and deliver new metrics
- Continue development of all charts so the website can load data from database as fast as possible;
- Develop new, improved charts. Some suggestions:
* Darknet adoption (markets);
* Darknet adoption (forum users);
* Number of miners;
* Number of transactions by type (MLSAG, CLSAG, etc.);
* Number of user on other media, such as twitter;
* Incorporate Google Trends natively;
Month 3 ) Build new charts with metrics and begin development of articles section
- Keep building new metrics, and;
- Develop the "Articles" section, where I intend to create a blog-like system where contributors can write articles about Monero and supervisors can review, approve, delete or modify posts. I have many good articles to write as well, mostly about the banking system and about Monero adoption, including the metrics on the website. I've never had time to write these, since the Moneroj website was a side project, but I imagine the community would greatly approve their content. I intend to write two articles per week, one article concerning Monero metrics, and one about Economics and Monero.
- Provide an RSS feed for these articles, so others can incorporate them into their news source;
Later works ) There's so much that can be done with my website to further Monero adoption, that I feel this is the best way to make me focus on sharping Moneroj.net as a tool for our community. I am totally open to suggestions, so this work can be improved with time. Not all metrics are possible to be calculated given the privacy-preserving nature of Monero, but I bet there are many other ones that can be plotted. I intend to make Moneroj.net a source of information the regular Monero user can check daily.
## How much should be invested
My current rate is 45 USD/hour, and I can keep a production of 28 hours/week, so 5040 USD/month, at the current rate of 173.8 USD/xmr equals a total of 87 XMR, or 29 XMR paid at the end of each month, for the next 3 months.
## Note from the author
This is my first CCS proposal, but I hope the community understand and believes my mission. I hope the community is able to see I've been working with the best intentions and transparency. I made Moneroj.net for the community out of my own pocket and time, more than a year ago, and I held as long as I could updating and improving it. I certainly believe this is a project that deserves more investment, because it is really userful as a tool, and it has been increasing in size. It is time for the next step, and this involves costs which I can't keep out of my own funds and time. The quality of my work can be seen on both Moneroj.net and Monero.com.

As a last note, I must thank Cake Wallet for the opportunity they gave me to build Monero.com and I clarify that the work on this project is a completely different topic and with different methods. The license of Moneroj.net will be permissive, so any person that desires to use it afterwards will be free to do so. I intend to publish under a Creative Commons license (CC BY 4.0), if that’s according to the CCS rules.
