This is the first commit of the CCS proposal to develop Monero Superbrain on all fronts for 1 year. This is a summary of the proposal:
Monero Superbrain: 1-Click P2Pool Mining App for Umbrel
I built an Umbrel app called Monero Superbrain that turns any Umbrel home server into a full P2Pool mining setup with one click. No terminal, no config files, no Docker commands. Install it, enter a wallet address, and you're mining to P2Pool within seconds.
What it does: Bundles monerod connection, P2Pool, xmrig-proxy, and XMRig into a single Umbrel app with a web dashboard. You get real-time hashrate, earnings tracking (synced from p2pool.observer), mining fleet management for LAN miners, and live P2Pool stats, all from your browser. Also instructions to easily connect more miners for a mining farm.
Why it matters: Monero's security depends on decentralized hashrate. P2Pool is the answer, but it's still too complicated for most people. Umbrel has 700k+ installs, these are people who already run home servers, already care about sovereignty, and already have Monero nodes running. They're one click away from contributing hashrate to P2Pool. If even a small percentage install Superbrain, that's thousands of new decentralized miners on the network.
Current state: Beta is live and working. Core features are built, dashboard, earnings tracker, mining fleet, multi-theme UI, LAN/Tailscale miner support. I've been fixing bugs with active beta testers in a group.
What I'm proposing: 1 year of development and maintenance, split into 4 quarterly milestones at ~$5k each ($20k total / ~64 XMR):
Q1 (retro): The build itself + beta tester organization and fixes already completed
Q2: Polish, onboarding wizard, mobile UI, official Umbrel App Store submission
Q3: Community outreach to Umbrel/selfhosting communities, advanced features (profitability dashboard, payout notifications, P2Pool visualizer, language translation)
Q4: Widget for UmbrelOS dashboard, documentation, security upkeep, contributor onboarding for long-term sustainability. Further miner onboarding from Umbrel and self-hosting communities, educational media for Monero/p2pool/Superbrain The app is open source and already functional. Happy to answer questions or do a demo.
