What?

The maintainer of Monero Observer, escapethe3RA, has been on a break for approximately 4 months. This proposal want to optimize the Jekyll build speed and configure Vercel and GitHub Pages CI/CD for the project.

As the escapethe3RA stated:

It is likely that I will implement some changes to the project: migrate away from Jekyll’s awfully long local build times, redesign the website and potentially expand the overall journalistic approach.

This migration will serve as a critical reference, though the task is non-trivial.

After migration, the site will be deployed to both Vercel and GitHub Pages. I will substitute for the maintainer in a 3-month news reporting role, covering:

  • Daily news releases (news coverage + community updates)
  • Weekly community highlights roundup
  • Routine site maintenance

I commit that all content will be free from AI-generated content.

If the community detects any AI usage traces during review, payment for the corresponding milestone may be withheld.

Most reports already have mature styles and templates, requiring minimal adaptation—thus, AI has virtually no role in content creation.

Proposal

Milestone 1: Demo Development

Deliverables:

A Hexo-based version of Monero Observer with a theme closely matching the original site, capable of normal operation, article rendering, and deployment to GitHub Pages and Vercel.

Cost:

16 development hours × 150 CNY/hour = 2400 CNY, equivalent to 0.96 XMR.

Milestone 2, 3, 4: 3-Month News Reporting

Deliverables:

Substituting for escapethe3RA in 3 months of news reporting, including daily news releases, community updates, weekly highlights, and site maintenance, all published on Monero Observer.

If the community detects AI usage traces during review, payment for this milestone may be withheld.

Cost:

Total 32 working hours/month × 100 CNY/hour × 3 months = 9600 CNY, equivalent to 3.84 XMR.

3200 CNY/month equivalent to 1.28 XMR/month

Additional Note:

If the escapethe3RA returns during this period and the community decides to shut down the temporary site, funds will be settled pro-rata based on actual service duration.
