Proposal

With this proposal I Mondetta hope to get a compensation for the work done for monero.eco over a period of one year (2025-03 - 2026-03) with help of Schmidt who hosts and promotes the project.

At launch of this project we received a positive feedback from the community as well as few donations which we appreciate. First I needed to make sure that the project provides the intended value to the community.

After the first donations received, I have decided to move from donation model, to a potentially more stable and transparent CCS funding/compensation model.

  • The donation addresses have been removed from the repository and social media posts since 2025-03-19.
  • No advertisement, sponsorship or referral links have been used to keep the Monero ecosystem presentable.

Project

Monero Ecosystem

A graph or map of Monero Ecosystem that provides a visual overview, with web links to relevant projects.

The main target audience are new Monero users. Therefore only most relevant projects can compete to be added to the graph to avoid visual complexity.

Projects get listed based on requirements defined in the repository.

Recently we migrated the repository to codeberg.org to welcome privacy-friendly contributions. Listing submissions are handled using repository issues, which are periodically investigated by me.

Value

  • For newbies, monero.eco solves the fragmentation problem within Monero ecosystem and significantly improves the on-boarding experience.
  • For marketing purposes, monero.eco presents the state of Monero's utility in a distinct, artistic style to attract attention.
  • For Monero users, monero.eco mainly serves as tool for quick navigation to relevant projects, which are 1-click away on desktop and a double-tap-pull zoom away on mobile.

Usage

Monero.eco has become the go-to visual directory for intuitively navigating most relevant Monero projects for both newbies and active Monero users.

This boosted my confidence for this proposal as the project value has already been provided to the Monero community.

  • Updating, Adding, Removing listings (Link, Name, Logo, Status)
  • Manually editing and styling the SVG page for each release.
  • Making sure the graph stays visually appealing for most users.
  • Researching the relevance of each listing candidate withing the scope of monero.eco
  • Developing features (auto dark mode, category pages, project status)
  • Contributing to relevant projects for better integration in the ecosystem (Testing and providing feedback, creating or improving graphics).
  • Tracking community feedback on multiple platforms.
  • Exploring other implementations of monero.eco beyond the graph structure.

Although Schmidt does not wish to receive funding from this proposal, he is helpful in handling the following tasks on a voluntary basis:

Compensation

I hope to get the following amount as a compensation for the work to make the project sustainable.

49 XMR

Hourly rate: $30 (lowered)

Monero price: $320

This will allow me to keep maintaining and improving monero.eco, without sacrificing our time.
