jpk68 full-time work (3 months)

jpk68 requested to merge jpk68/ccs-proposals:proposals-2 into master

Who

I'm a guy with a laptop who taught myself to code a while ago. I have been interested in Monero (as well as other sorts of "freedom tech") for quite some time now, and have been contributing to Monero for around eight months, with ~50 merged pull requests so far.

Some of my contributions to date include the following:

What

For this CCS, I plan to work on the following areas:

  • Begin work on support for the Tor Control protocol in monerod, specifically for automatically configuring onion services
  • Look into integrating the existing I2P SAM implementation into 'core' wallet code for use with remote nodes
  • Continue to improve the usability, scope, and feature parity of the Monero GUI
  • Provide ongoing support, testing, etc. for anonymity networks code (there will surely be improvements to be made down the line)
  • Review pull requests where applicable, plus regular patches, bugfixes, and attempted improvements as usual ;)

Please note that all outstanding work from my ongoing/previous CCS proposal will be completed on my own time, which is not included in the "work hours" of this CCS.

Funding

I propose to work for 40 hours per week for three months, for a total of 45 XMR.

If possible, I would appreciate this proposal being funded by the remaining donations from the now-finished I2P SAM bounty. The work outlined in this CCS is quite similar, and I believe it fits the definition of being eligible for its funding.
