jpk68 full-time work (3 months) #2
Who
I've been working on Monero for about a year at this point; my contributions include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Added I2P SAM support to the Monero daemon and GUI, as well as general I2P support to P2Pool
- Helped port the GUI to Qt6, including both code patches and cross-platform testing
- Added multisig support to the GUI (though this will likely NOT be merged, due to reasons)
- Fixed dozens of long-standing bugs and UX issues in 'core' software, especially ones related to memory safety, performance, the CLI wallet, and hardware wallets
- Worked on improving the build system, namely through extended support for compiler caching, and build optimizations for FCMP++ Rust libraries
- Improved multiple areas of the official documentation site, as well as minor contributions to projects such as Feather, Monfluo, and Cuprate
- Increased fuzz testing coverage of the main Monero codebase
What
For this CCS, I plan to work on the following areas:
- Review pull requests (a lot of them), and fix bugs found through testing and analysis
- Work on code patches related to restructuring code in
cryptonote_core, which will drastically improve (wallet) sync performance - Provide ongoing support, testing, etc. for anonymity networks code
- Continue to improve the usability, scope, and feature parity of the Monero GUI
- Work on standardizing a generic interface for hardware signing devices, based on vtnerd's CBOR {en,de}coder
- Investigate the possibility of replacing the existing
epeeHTTP server code with something else
Funding
I propose to work for 45 hours per week for three months, for a total of 45 XMR.
