Rehrar 36c3

Merged Diego Salazar requested to merge rehrar/ccs-proposals:rehrar-36c3 into master

Heyo everyone. Welcome back to another edition of "rehrar asks for money to do Monero related things". In this episode, rehrar wants to go back to C3. So I guess this one is called rehrar to C3 2: Return of Jafar.

Basically, similar to last year, I want to go help at 36C3. Last year I was the MC, did general coordination, and helped to run the floor and speeches, as well as giving a few speeches on my own.

The costs to send me to Leipzig is as follows:

Flight 1700

Hotel 630

Incidentals 565

Ticket 140

For a total of 3035.

Converted to XMR (With a 10% buffer): 58.65 XMR.

IF the community thinks I would be of value to go to C3, then let's get this tagged and bagged. Thanks all!

  • I think rehrar did an amazing job last year, and without him the stage would not have been possible. We also received very positive feedback for the stage program, and with rehrar again at c3 i am confident that we can raise the bar; also with rehrar there MCing the cluster can focus more on content and coordination, which is very much needed to uphold the high quality. I am strongly endorsing his CCS.

  • I am also supporting his CCS. I have seen the Monero presence grow at CCC over the years, and last year in particular was a big step forward. The entire Critical Decentralization Cluster and the Monero assembly within it were a HUGE endeavor, with its own large space, its own stage that was self curated and filled of high-quality talks, a number of assemblies to coordinate, etc.

If you were not there, the best way to picture the amount of work needed is to consider this was basically like organizing a small conference within the CCC itself, during 4 days (plus the setup before and winding down after).

@rehrar was key to make things smooth before, during, and after. In particular his handling of the stage was really well appreciated (if you have been at Defcon you should know that too).
