Empower Lebanon(and similar hyperinflated countries) to use Monero instead of fiat(educational and bartering platform/guerilla marketing/workshops)
I have been active in the Monero online community since the start of the economic crisis in Lebanon(hyperinflation, banks basically stealing people's savings and have been getting people to use Monero for bartering for services mainly on telegram groups).
The idea behind this proposal is to get enough funds so I can sustain myself and work on this platform full-time.
I am a software developer by profession so I will be working on the development part, as well as writing relevant content- especially in arabic since the space is lacking in this field. Most neighboring countries are facing similar issues to Lebanon, albeit not the same severity YET. So onboarding third worlders to use what in my humble opinion, Bitcoin was aiming to be is relevant to the XMR community, as well as getting more true adoption.
The first milestone will always be on-going but having to print out stickers and posters does incur some costs and I can't handle them by myself due to the depreciation of the currency.
Coding the website will take around a month to have a fully functional platform.
The content and translation should take about two weeks and the last milestone will be a celebration to allow like-minded XMR users to meet in real life as well as watch Sound money, Safe mode by Dr.Daniel Kim which is the most recommended starter talk to get to know how XMR is true digital cash.
After getting funded the timeline would be two months at worst
Milestones:
5 XMR for guerilla marketing: Posting stickers/printing flyers to distribute around Beirut to get more attention
10 XMR for UI/UX
20 XMR for the webapp codebase
10 XMR for content writing
5 XMR for success gathering party

Activity
The CCS does not officially sponsor translations anymore. Spreading Monero far and wide is a great initiative.
There was a similar CCS for an Afghanistan expansion strategy that did not go to funding. Spirobel has since created a site where people can post jobs/tasks e.g. put stickers around kabul. They also attended the Bitcoin Oslo Freedom Forum in Taiwan to discuss privacy/censorship related issues... and have proven web3 abilities such as creating a discourse plugin for Monero subscriptions and a Monerochan merchant rpc.
Ideally you would be able to show evidence of similar and/or better achievements for a realistic chance of moving to the funding stage. Some feedback will be gathered tomorrow, 17th December 16:00UTC https://github.com/monero-project/meta/issues/767
edit* Lets not forget anarkiocryptos mountain of contributions to the agorist/circular economy community. They also created https://bitejo.com/ where people can trade peer 2 peer for Monero/Bitcoin/Cash KYC Free.
Edited by plowsoffI've posted stickers that an XMR friend shipped from Germany all around Beirut.
I posted some pictures on reddit that I'll link
I replied about bitejo in another comment; my goal for the CCS is to get enough funding to work on spreading XMR full-time.
Is there someone I can share my achievement/professional experience with without doxxing myself?
The CCS isnt for translation maybe I didnt get the idea conveyed well enough
Mainly its an educational marketplace since the area is ravaged by the crisis, and spread replacing day to day fiat usage for XMR.
The achievement is people adopting cryptocurrency here instead of fiat(even USD) and spreading education with a platform where we can buy and sell services and goods for XMR seemed like a viable ideaI'll fix the milestones and the proposal.
What I'm aiming for is spreading the usage of XMR day to day in countries that are in economic crisis at first.
I saw that bitejo's team on reddit posted that someone should take over the project since they didnt get much traction. I'm willing to do so full time
I am first generation here in America, Parents and all the rest of my family is in Lebanon. I understand the struggles of wanting to adapt crypto there, A beautiful country with amazing people however it's a shame what they did to the Lira and shows a decentralized financial system needs to exist there. I also think that this proposal should focus more on creating a xmr exchange service that is simple and easy to use. Then get local businesses to adopt it/spread "guerilla marketing". Might need to provide additional benefits to onboard local businesses.
5 XMR for guerilla marketing: Posting stickers/printing flyers to distribute around Beirut to get more attention
Do you have any experience doing this? do you have a track record of posting Monero stickers in public places already? Are you aware that people can already "fund a guerrilla" for less than 5XMR @ https://monerosupplies.com/product/fund-a-guerrilla-get-funded/ maybe you could approach them to get some stickers and/or flyers delivered so you can show us.
10 XMR for UI/UX
20 XMR for the webapp codebaseAny past experience here we can see to prove you are capable?
10 XMR for content writing
Do you have an example of any blogs or other materials you have written? are you knowledgeable on the topics you wish to cover?
5 XMR for success gathering party
Have you tried to organise a crypto meetup in your area before (e.g. using meetup.com)? Or attended any in the past? I see Binance held a meetup in Lebanon in July 2022: https://twitter.com/binance/status/1553425264029351936?lang=en
I already spread stickers around Beirut, 5 XMR would be more than enough for a year of tagging in my opinion.
I attended the recent Binance meetup as well as the latest one, but my goal is a more agorist gathering, not a full-fledged event that would cost a fortune (relatively).
I've worked on technical papers, as well as academic in university and in regards to the webapp and UI/UX, I need to share my actual identity with someone trustworthy since I can't really doxx myself for security reasons- mainly spreading XMR that a lot of governmental authorities sadly frown upon.
Where should I go from here
I'm waiting for bitejo's dev team to reply from reddit
https://xmrmarketplace.netlify.app/
I deployed this in the meantimeWe've got a small catch up meeting on the 7th January (assuming less activity with it being so close to new years) and then a follow up on the 14th January.
Where should i go from here
At the moment we have 2 stickers, and a netlify link which shows the description of your proposal with a donation address under it. This will be discussed at the next meeting(s). Considering this is a 'marketing Monero' proposal i can't really give any pointers on how to make this a better proposal (as you must display these abilities here too at the idea stage).
Bitejo is now an open source project, if you want to raise funds for contributing to it, please update your proposal to clarify this. I would strongly suggest you identify what you plan on doing, and show evidence that you are capable (some volunteer work is advantageous).
