Who

Hi, I'm Jackie. I have front-end development capabilities and can independently build news aggregation websites.

What

As one of the community's major real-time news aggregation and observation platforms, we believe a temporary replacement site is needed for a short period.

Core Platform Disruption: Monero Observer, the core real-time news aggregation and information observation platform for the Monero community, has suspended operations as its core maintainer has entered a hiatus. Upgrade Reference Direction: 3RA previously proposed “eliminating Jekyll's lengthy local build time and redesigning the website”. This temporary site can serve as a reference solution for this upgrade requirement.

Why

1. Develop a temporary replacement site to ensure uninterrupted core information services for the community;
2. The technical solution of the new site can provide a reference for 3RA's subsequent upgrade of Monero Observer.

Plan

Built on the Hexo static site generator, with reference to Jackie's Blog (Note: Stars on this repository were added with assistance from a friend and hold no reference value). Delivered features include:

• Implement news publishing, automatic build and automatic deployment capabilities;
• Synchronous publishing to Vercel and GitHub Pages.

Highlights

1. Improved Build Efficiency: Hexo local build time is reduced to approximately 14 seconds (tested on my personal blog), solving the problem of excessively long Jekyll build times;
2. No JS: Zero JavaScript code on the front end (NO JS);
3. Open Source & Transparent: Code hosted on GitHub (different from the original site's self-hosted download model);
4. Optimized Access Experience: Global CDN acceleration via Vercel enables fast access across multiple regions.

Funding Request (Milestones)

• 1 XMR ≈ 357 USD (Kraken exchange quote);
• 1 USD ≈ 7 CNY.

1. Demo Version Development

• Deliverables: A fully functional demo version completed in the monero-observer repository, including core capabilities for news publishing, automatic build/deployment;
• Requested Funding: 1.44 XMR;
• Calculation Basis: 24 development hours × 150 CNY/hour = 3600 CNY, equivalent to 1.44 XMR.

2. 3 Month Continuous Maintenance and Updates

• Services: Daily news publishing (news reports + community updates), weekly compilation of community highlights, plus regular site updates and basic maintenance;
• Requested Funding: 3.84 XMR;
• Calculation Basis: 32 monthly working hours × 100 CNY/hour × 3 months = 9600 CNY, equivalent to 3.84 XMR;
• Settlement Note: If the core maintainer (3RA) returns and the community resolves to shut down this temporary site during the period, funding will be settled pro rata based on actual service hours.

Should the community require long-term maintenance of this site, I am willing to continue providing support for technical development, content operation and other related services.
